In re Frankie Switzinger for writ of Habeas Corpus. Writ of Habeas Corpus

 

In the District Court of Washington Territory and for the Fourth Judicial District thereof holding terms at Cheney, in Spokane County.

James Glispen city marshal C.F. Whittier, Sheriff Spokane county Falls, Greeting:

Whereas, on the 27th day of November, A.D. 1885 one Frankie Switzinger was arrested upon a warrant issued by J.J.L. Peel Esq. a Justice of the Peace in and for said county of Spokane upon the complaint of R.J. Rusk charging the said Frankie Switzinger with the crime of keeping a house a house in which other persons smoke or inhale opium, within the corporate limits of the city of Spokane Falls, W.T.

That on the 10th day of December A.D. 1885, the said Frankie Switzinger was committed to the city jail of said city of Spokane Falls, W.T. by virtue of a warrant of committment issued by said Justice of the Peace,

 

and directed to the Marshal of said city of Spokane Falls, commanding that the said Frankie Switzinger be confined in said city jail until she shall pay the sum twenty-five dollars and costs of suit, according to a judgement rendered by said Justice of the Peace.

Now, therefore, in the name of the United States, you are hereby commanded to produce the body of the said Frankie Switzinger, "by whatever name she is held" before the Honorable George Turner, associate Justice of the Judicial Court of Washington Territory and Judge of the Fourth Judicial District thereof, at his chambers in Spokane Falls, at ten o'clock A.M. on the 14th day of December A.D. 1885.

Herein fail not and have you then and there this writ with your return thereon.
