Sterling P. White v. John Cody. Commitment

 

Territory of Washington County of Lincoln} ss

To any constable, and the keeper of the Jail of said co.

Whereas S. White of Sherman has been brought this day before the undersigned one of the Justice of the Peace in and for said county, charged by the Coroners Jury with having on the 25th day of December 1884, in said county committed the offence of causing the death of A.L. Beardon by a pistol shot, and in progress of the trial of said charge, it appearing to the said Justice that the said S. White has been guilty of the offense of shooting the aforesaid A.L. Beardon committed at the time and place aforesaid, therefore in the name of the United States you are hereby commanded to receive the said S. White into your custody in the said jail, and him there safely keep until he be discharged due course of law.

Given under my hand this 5th day of January A.D. 1885
