Personally appeared before the undersigned one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County John McCloud who being first duly sworn makes oath and says that on the 18h day of August 1881 in the County of Pierce W.T. one James Riley did in an angrey and threatening manner assault him the deponant with a stone and did scar[?] and abuse[?] him the deponant and did put the life of said McCloud in danger Contrey to the law in such cases made and provided and demands that he be be dealt with according law
