In the District Court of the Second Judicial District of Washington Territory holding Terms at Tacoma in and for Pierce County in said Territory

Mary Arlington} Order of Discharge

On reading and filing the petition of Mary Arlington duly signed and verified by her whereby it appears that she is illegally imprisoned and restrained of her liberty by Lewis Byrd Sheriff of Pierce County Washington Territory, at the Jail of said County in the City of Tacoma in said County in Washington Territory and stating therein the illegality consists from which it appears to me a writ of Habeas Corpus ought to issue

It is ordered that a writ of Habeas Corpus issue out of and made under the seal of the District Court of the second Judicial District of Washington Territory, directed to the said Lewis Byrd sheriff of said County of Pierce, commanding him to have the body of the said Mary Arlington before me at the Court House in the said City of Tacoma on Monday the 26th 28th day of January A.D. 1885,   at one Oclock P.M. of that day to do and receive what shall then and there be considered concerning the said Mary Arlington together with the time and cause of her detention and that he have then and there said writ.
