United States of America In Justice Court before Henry C Hale Justice of the Peace

Territory of Washington County of Kitsap } ss

To the Sheriff or any Constable of said County Greeting

Whereas Qui a chinaman of Port Madison has been brought this day before the undersigned one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County with having on the 16th day of November 1884 in said County, committed the offense and crime of smoking and inhaling opium and in the progress of the trial of said charge it appearing to the said magistrate that the said Qui has been guilty of the offense of smoking and inhaling opium committed at the time and place aforesaid and whereas the said Qui has failed to give bail in the sum of _ dollars for his _ Wherefor you the said Thos Beaton Deputy Sheriff in the [?] of the United States forthwith to convey and deliver the said Qui to the said keeper and you the said Keeper are   hereby commanded to receive the said Qui into your custody in said Jail and him there safely keep for the time of sixteen days _ Country WT, or until he shall be discharged by due course of law
