Application at Chambers for writ of Habeas Corpus Decr 31 1866

And now this day the Plaintiff appearing before me & presents[?] a sworn petition stating that his daughter Louisa Jane Derrick aged fourteen years is now at the house of Mrs Whitesides the Defendant & that his said daughter is kept from him by the acts and doings of the said defendent Mrs Whitesides so that he cannot have the care and Custody of his said daughter now therefore[?] this is to command and require that you Mrs. Whitesides produce before me[?] at the Court House in Walla Walla city on Wednesday the 2 day   of Jany AD 1867 at the hour of 11 O AM the said Louisa Jane Derrick. To the end that such orders may be made tendering[?] the care and Custody of said Louisa Jane Derrick as may be considered proper & this writ you will[?] on her manner regard and it is ordered that the Sheriff of Walla Walla Co. forthwith serve this writ on the defendt[?] and make due return as required by law
