United States v. Mathias Rose. Contempt of Court

The United States of America to the Sheriff of St Louis County Greeting.

We command you to attack Mathias Rose if he may be found in your Bailwick and bring him forthwith before the Judge of our curcuit court now sitting at the town of St Louis within & for the county of St. Louis then & there to answer unto the United States of America touching a certain contempt by him committed in not producing the body of Milly agreably to the requisition of a certain writ of Habeas Corpus issued from our said court and have you then there this writ.

Witness Archibald Gamble clerk of our said court this twenty ninth day of December eighteen hundred & nineteen and of our Independence the forty fourth —
