GREETING.

WHEREAS? LELAH-PUC-KA-CHEE, and her husband, TA-TA-PI-CHA, have applied to the undersigned, Federal Judge of the Northern District of Iowa, for a preliminary writ of Habeas-Corpus for the body of LELAH-PUC-KA-CHEE,, alleged to illegally taken and restrained of her liberty, and imprisoned from her lawful husband, by W,G, Malin, Agent of the Sac and Fox Indians of Iowa and one G,N, Nellis Superintendent of the U,S, Indian School at Toledo Iowa, at and in a certain room or rooms of said School. And WHEREAS, It satisfactorily appearing to the Under-signed, That the said LELAH-PUC-KA-CHEE, is illegally restrained of her liberty and unlawfully imprisoned from her husband at the said Indian School of the United States at Toledo Iowa by the said W,G, Malin, and the said G,N, Nellis. And It also further satisfactorily appearing to the Undersigned That the said petitioners will suffer irrepairable injury, before the said LELAH-PUC-KA-CHEE, can be released by issuing the ordinary writ of Habeas-Corpus?

You are therefore hereby commanded, That you forthwith, take the said LELAH-PUC-KA-CHEE, and bring her before me the undersigned at [] on the [] day of [] 1899 at [] O clock of said day without delay to be dealt with according to law, And WHEREAS, It further satisfactorily appearing to the undersigned, That the said W,G, Malin and G,N, Nellis have caused to be committed the crime of an assault with intent to commit great bodily injury in connection with the said illegal seizure, taking, and detention and imprisonment, You are therefore hereby commanded, forthwith, to arrest the said W,G, Malin and G,N, Nellis and bring them before the undersigned at [] on the [] day of [] A,D, 1899 at [] O clock in the [] noon of said day to be dealt with according to law and have you then and there this writ with a return hereon of your doings in the premises.
