In the matter of the application of C.E. Clayton, Geo. Rosenthal Wm. Lewis John Mc.Donald Chas Olsen Chas. Kales and Fredericke Lunde and C. Roschman for a writ of Habeas Corpus.

Upon reading the petition of the petioners in the above entitled cause for a writ of Habeas Corpus and being aquainted in the premises it is now considered and ordered that a writ of Habeas Corpus issue to the said J.E. Howland Master of the Ship "Kate Davenport" commanding him to produce before me the Judge of the above entitled court the bodies of C.A. Clayton, Geo. Rosenthal, Wm. Lewis, John Mc.Donaled Chas. Olsen Fredericke Linde and C. Roschman on the 9th day of October and at 1 at the hour of 4 oclock Pm. That there and then I may investigate and hear and conside if the said Petitioners are so restrained of their liberty as alleged, and it is ordered that the clerk of the above named court do issue the said writ and place the same in the hands of the proper officer for execution.
